Locals run in woman's memory

Students and residents ran a 5k race around Arthur J. Hendrickson Park last Saturday in memory of Central High School alum Tracy Heidenfelder, who died of cancer in 2012.
Residents joined Central High School students at Arthur J. Hendrickson Park last Saturday for the third annual Tracy Heidenfelder Memorial Fund 5k Run.
The young tradition honors the life of Heidenfelder, a Central High School graduate who died of cancer in 2012. She was 24.
Mayor Ed Fare sounded the horn to begin the race, accompanied by Central High School Athletic Director Michael Caputo. The event was organized by the school’s Score Club and Beautifully Reckless, the name for the fund that will award scholarships to Central students from the money raised.
