A 20-year-old man suffered multiple injuries on Sunday after another man allegedly drove into him at a West Merrick Road gas station, according to Nassau County police.

Police said that Jeremy Nin, 20, of North Montgomery Street, was in front of his home when he saw the victim, who he knew, walking eastbound on West Merrick Road near Montgomery Street shortly before 9 a.m. The victim reached the BP gas station at 385 W. Merrick Rd., where Nin allegedly drove into him, causing him to land on the hood of the vehicle.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries to both legs and bruises and lacerations to his face.

Nin returned to his home after the incident, police said, and was arrested there by responding officers. He was charged with second-degree assault, a class D felony, and leaving the scene of an auto accident with injury without a report, a class E felony. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Monday.
