Nassau County Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery in Valley Stream on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, two unknown men entered the Al Mini Market at 91 Ocean Avenue near the city border on Jan. 15 at 2:40 p.m. They went up to the counter and approached the 26-year-old female clerk. One the men pulled out a gun and demanded money. The other attempted to open the register but was unsuccessful.

The suspects fled the store without any proceeds and were last seen heading westbound on 131st Avenue into Queens. The suspects are described as black men in their mid-20s, one wearing a North Face bubble jacket.

No one was injured and there were no other customers inside. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS.
