Police seek suspect in six robberies

A man wanted in connection with a half dozen robberies, including one in North Woodmere at the Shell gasoline station at 928 Rosedale Road at 9:21 p.m. on Feb. 9, is described as black, 5-feet, 10-inches to 6-feet tall, with a thin build. He was seen wearing a black jacket with a hooded sweatshirt underneath, a ski mask or scarf was covering his lower face, gloves and white soled sneakers. He was armed with a large kitchen knife according to police.
Four other robberies occurred in Valley Stream at Evans Corner at 962 Rockaway Ave. at 2:17 p.m. on Feb. 24; North Central Liquors at 339 North Central Ave. at 8:24 p.m. on March 10; Dragon Garden, 104 Rockaway Ave., 8:45 p.m. on March 11; Fortune Grocery at 246 North Central Ave. at 8:20 p.m. on March 20. Another was at the Crescent Pharmacy, 42 Central Court in North Valley Stream at 11:37 a.m. on April 7, police said.
The alleged thief enters the business and demands cash from the register. He allegedly takes the cash drawer from the register and flees on foot, according to police.But a white vehicle, possible a Hyundai with yellow NY plates was seen at the Evans Corner robbery.
Police are asking if anyone has any information about these incidents to call Crime Stoppers at 1-(800) 244-8477. All calls are kept confidential. There is up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest
