Hope with every step Family 5k walk

The annual Hope With Every Step Family 5k Walk is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Arthur J. Hendrickson Park. Arrive early to pick up shirts and turn in sponsor money.

Valley Stream

Community Fest

For the sixth straight year, Valley Stream is set to celebrate its diversity and sense of community spirit with the 2016 Valley Stream Community Fest on Sept. 24. The event is scheduled for Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Rockaway Avenue. The festival is free and attendees don’t need a ticket to enter. Drivers can park on the side of the street and parking meters are waived for the day.

American Legion Calverton Bus Trip

The American Legion Post No. 854 is sponsoring its 2nd annual Calverton bus trip Saturday, Oct. 1 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The registration deadline is Sept. 23. Contact Donna Moore for more information.
