Should we go to jail for our evil thoughts?

The jury decided that a real conspiracy existed among the emailers, and that Valle was part of it. I don’t see it that way. Who knows if he is or could become a danger to society? Right now he is guilty of evil thoughts and profound stupidity. He seems flawed in a particularly disturbing, antisocial way, but he was never accused of inappropriate behavior on the job or in his community.

He is kind of a unique case. I feel as if he isn’t guilty as charged, but I am not unhappy that he might be locked away forever.
