Summer Concert Series kicks off

The city's free Summer Concert Series welcomes performers Yehuda Green & Orchestra, and Shlomo Style Music on July 3 at Long Beach Boulevard beach at 7 p.m.; On July 4, Current Affair will perform with Becca Faulkenberry on National Boulevard beach at 8 p.m.; On July 6, the Rockinghams will perform a tribute to the best of the ‘60s at New York Avenue beach at 8 p.m.; And on July 7, Swingtime Big Band is slated to liven the crowd on Neptune Boulevard beach at 8 p.m.

Hit the beach

The Beach Park hours extended beginning this weekend.

For your safety, beginning Saturday, July 2, the Beach Park will be open, with lifeguards on duty, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. every weekend in July, including Monday, July 4. All beachgoers age 13 and over must have a valid beach pass during open operational hours. Alcohol, smoking and glass bottles are prohibited on the beach at all times.

Fabulous 4th of July Race in Memory of Sean Ryan

On Monday, July 4, come celebrate the start of a safe and healthy summer by participating in the Fabulous 4th of July Race in Memory of Sean Ryan on Independence Day. The 1K children's fun run will begin at 8 a.m. and the 4K (2.49 miles) race will begin at 8:30 a.m. Register online at www.active.com
