Two sought in Valley Stream armed robbery

Nassau County police are investigating an armed robbery at the Verizon store on East Merrick Road in Valley Stream on Monday at 1:37 p.m.

According to detectives, two black men entered the store and displayed a handgun. The suspects then stole several cell phones and an unspecified amount of money before running off southbound on South Cottage Avenue toward East Lincoln Avenue.

One suspect was described as 5-foot-10, with a thin build. He wore a mask, black hooded sweatshirt and ripped blue jeans. The other suspect was described as 5-foot-9, with a thin build. He too wore a mask, a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

During the robbery, two employees and one customer were in the store, but no injuries were reported.
