The Friends of Valley Stream Dogs held its annual Dog Day at the Green on June 18. The event was the fifth the group has organized, and it made for a busy day at the dog park and the Village Green.
Vendors sold pet products, dogs were available for adoption and raffles and contests were featured.
Kevin Connors, of Valley Stream, noted the convenience of the village’s dog park and the benefit of its activities as he watched his dog, Riley, interact with the other animals. “I used to live in Floral Park and there’s no dog park there,” he said. “It’s horrible.”
