Valley Stream collision sends two vehicles into building

Posted

Minor injuries were sustained when a three-car accident sent two vehicles crashing into the front of a West Merrick Road car dealership on Oct. 14 at around 4 p.m., according to the Nassau County Police Department.

The accident occurred in front of the Gregoris Subaru dealership at 555 West Merrick Road. Owner Richard Gregoris said a car attempted to make a U-turn when it was struck by a Jeep. The Jeep then ricocheted into a parked vehicle, sending both cars crashing into the dealership.

Gregoris said he saw two children inside one car who looked “shaken up” but did not appear to be injured. They were taken from the scene in an ambulance.

Gregoris said damage to the building was superficial. “There was no structural damage. The front face of the building was scuffed up, the footing was damaged. There was no broken glass, but the window and door frames are both pretty bent up,” he said.

Police are investigating the crash.
