Valley Stream is named a Tree City

Bridget Sharp and Emerald Fogerty of Girl Scout Troop 2029 planted a tree.

Fare added that the most commonly planted trees in the village are ash, cherry and maple. Swamp maples and sycamores were popular decades ago, when neighborhoods were first being built.
