Another Chinese food deliverer assaulted and robbed in Valley Stream area

A second Chinese food deliverer was assaulted and robbed in Valley Stream this month, Nassau County police said.

According to the police, a 45-year-old male victim was attempting to deliver Chinese food from the Taste of China restaurant in Elmont to a Warner Road residence in North Valley Stream on Aug. 28 at 9:35 p.m. He was then approached by two black males who began assaulting him, and stole an undetermined amount of money and his cell phone. The suspects then stole the victim’s 2016 Toyota Rav4 and were last seen traveling eastbound on Dutch Broadway.

The victim, who suffered minor injuries, described the suspects as being 16 – 20 years old, between 5-foot-8-inches and 6-feet tall with slight builds.

The assault and robbery comes more than one week after another female Chinese food deliverer was assaulted and robbed while she was delivering food from China Dragon King in Elmont to an Arkansas Drive residence. The victim was physically assaulted by three black men, who then stole her food and phone and drove away in her small SUV. She suffered small abrasions to her legs and arms.

She described the victims as between the ages of 16 to 20 and between 16 to 20 and between 5-foot-11-inches t 6-feet tall.

Police said on Aug. 29 that they are not linking the cases at this time. They request that anyone with information about these assaults and robberies call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
