Police have identified the body of a man found in the Massapequa Preserve last month as 19-year-old Julio Cesar Gonzales-Espantzay, of Valley Stream.
According to police, Gonzales-Espantzay was discovered in the Massapequa Preserve near Seaview Avenue and Ocean Avenue at 2:07 p.m. on March 23.
Bill Heidenreich, superintendent of the Central High School District, said the district had no record of Gonzales-Espantzay attending its schools.
Police said the death appeared to be “suspicious,” and that the investigation would continue. Police requested that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-8477.
