Brooklyn man returned $17K worth of stolen items, cops say

A Brooklyn man has been arrested after returning a series of stolen items to various Home Depot stores on Long Island, including one at the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, according to a police news release.

Police said Guery Roy, 40, of New York Avenue, returned stolen items from April 17 to Sept. 13, which totaled more than $17,000. In addition to the store at 101 Green Acres Road, Home Depot stores affected were also in Elmont, Freeport, Levittown, Jericho, Westbury and Syosset.

Roy was charged with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records. He is due to be arraigned on Dec. 6 in First District Court
