Central celebrates Homecoming as one

Posted

Hundreds of students, parents, teachers and alumni packed the bleachers for Central High School’s Homecoming festivities on Oct. 5.

The event began with a banner parade around Firemen’s Field. The Peer Mentor Club won first place, with Student Council taking second and the Japanese Club placing third. The banners were designed based on this year’s Homecoming theme, “Celebrate Diversity.”

Vincent Vecchione, a lineman on the Eagles, and Courtney Ofeimun were named the Homecoming king and queen, and greeted the fans at halftime. Also during the intermission, the crowd was treated to a performance by the marching band and cheerleaders.

A packed house watched the Eagles take on the Hicksville Comets and earn their first win of the season in dominant fashion.
