The Kiwanis of the Five Towns recognized Det. Anthony Draghi and police officer James Disanti for their service to the 4th Precinct at the organization’s annual Police Appreciation Night at Frank’s Steakhouse in Rockville Centre on March 16.

Draghi and Disanti arrested Craig Myczkowski after three incidents in two days last year. Myczkowski allegedly tried to abduct a 20-month-old girl from her 65-year-old babysitter after following them to the child’s home in Woodmere on Jan. 11, 2016.

The following day, Myczkowski trespassed at a synagogue in Hewlett. He turned on a water spigot and damaged property. Found at an office in Hewlett, that he had ransacked Myczkowski was arrested.

Draghi’s diligence and Disanti’s keen awareness resulted in the speedy arrest. Both were recognized by County Executive Ed Mangano for their work, and have been county policemen for 23 years. Draghi has been a detective for 11 years.
