Philadelphia man arrested for driving while intoxicated in Valley Stream

A man from Philadelphia, Penn. was arrested for driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a weapon on Aug. 25 at 10:05 p.m. in Valley Stream.

According to Nassau County police, officers participating in a sobriety checkpoint for Saturation Saturday saw a driver of a black 2013 Hyundai with glassy bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. After conducting an investigation, police said, Annoman Singh, 28, of Philadelphia, was placed under arrest. Upon further investigation police found a loaded handgun in his car.

Singh is charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second-degree and two counts of driving while intoxicated. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 26 at the First District Court in Hempstead.
