Three people were arrested for a West Hempstead robbery that took place in and outside of the Cherry Valley Deli on Aug. 21.

According to Nassau County Police, a 21-year-old man, who left a bag containing his iPhone and clothing inside the deli, observed George Jordan-Gonzales, 25, of Levittown, walking out with it. He confronted Jordan-Gonzales as he entered a black SUV. Two other people - Karina Colato, 22, of Levittown and Aaron Moodie, 17, of Hicksville - were inside the vehicle, police said.

The victim was able to pull the bag away from the Jordan-Gonzales, but Colato and Moodie started to punch him. All three then exited the SUV, continued beating the victim, robbed him of an undetermined amount of cash, and fled the scene.

After an investigation by detectives, Jordan-Gonzales was placed under arrest on Aug. 21 in West Hempstead. Colato, who drove the vehicle, and Moodie, surrendered to the police later that evening. The victim refused medical treatment.

All three will be arraigned on Aug. 22 at First District Court in Hempstead.
