Man steals TV, slashes employee with box cutter at Green Acres Mall

Nassau County police said a man stole a TV from Walmart at the Green Acres Mall on Jan. 10, after slashing an employee who tried to stop him with a box cutter.

An 18-year-old woman employee approached the man as he was attempting to leave the store at about 7:48 a.m., according to a police news release. The box cutter tore her jacket, but no injuries were reported.

Police said the man got into a light blue or gray Honda Pilot heading north on Green Acres Road. The subject was described as black, 6-feet tall, about 40 to 50 years old, stocky build, wearing a gray sweater, gray hat, black pants, black shoes and a Walmart vest.
