Children in Wantagh, before enjoying their Thanksgiving feasts at home, got to celebrate the holiday in school.
In the Wantagh School District, Forest Lake Elementary School held its monthly morning program on Nov. 19, where first-grade students performed a variety of Thanksgiving-themed songs and poems for the rest of he school.
Musical numbers included “Over the River and Through the Woods,” “The Turkey Ran Away” and “America.”
At Lee Road School in North Wantagh, part of the Levittown School District, kindergarten students treated their parents to a handful of songs on Nov. 25 while wearing Pilgrim and Native American hats. The parents returned the favor, treating their children to a meal which included turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and lot of other popular fixings, as well as desserts.
