According to Giordano, the next step is for the Regal to pay a deposit and sign a contract with the village, agreeing to pay a village planning consultant’s expenses for processing the application, which should take 30 days. The consultant would review the proposal and the applicable zoning codes, and recommendations could be made and considered by the board in October or November. A public hearing would be held if any zoning changes were necessary.
