We want our students to be competitive in the global economy, and up to now, the quality of education on Long Island has given our children the edge they need. We don’t want to see that disappear.

Tax cap legislation was the only salvation for the extremely hard-pressed homeowners of Nassau County. Certainly, with so many unemployed these days, it would behoove school districts to strongly consider salary freezes until things begin to ease in the economic picture. Salary freezes need not affect the quality of education--our dedicated teachers will continue to produce students on a path to higher education.
