Alaskan husky, Iditarod athlete meet with children at the West Hempstead Public Library

Posted

Children of all ages sat down in the community room at the West Hempstead Public Library for a special, informative presentation on Alaskan huskies last Sunday. Instructor Karen Land and her Alaskan husky, Noggin, met with children to share their story.
Land brought her Iditarod sled, mushing clothing and gear for children to see how she prepares for the Alaskan Iditarod. Children got to learn about Alaskan huskies, along with learning about the competition and what it entails.
