Malvernites shine through hazy weather at homecoming parade

The overcast didn’t dampen the mood at Malverne High School’s Homecoming parade on Oct. 14. In fact, Malverne’s students were grinning from ear to ear as they marched from Whelan Field to the high school.

The district was well represented as a sea of orange and blue made its way through the village. From the high school marching band to the cheerleaders, residents and students were entertained throughout the entire parade. Also, the high school’s football field officially changed its name to the Colbert J. Britt Jr. Memorial Field at halftime during the varsity football team’s game against Valley Stream South.
