Bonnie Porzio, who serves as general counsel at Triumph Construction Corp., has been elected to the board of directors of Pet Peeves, a nonprofit umbrella organization that raises funds and awareness for Long Island’s struggling animal shelters and rescue groups. In addition, Porzio was re-elected to the board of directors of Girl Scouts of Nassau County.
“Whether in her role as general counsel at Triumph or her work on behalf of area nonprofits, Bonnie is a dedicated professional who consistently makes a positive difference,” said Carlo Cuzzi, founder and president of Triumph Construction. “Regardless of the task at hand, she knows how to overcome challenges and move a project forward. I’m confident that Girl Scouts of Nassau County and Pet Peeves will benefit from her vast legal knowledge and commitment to giving back to the community.”
Porzio, of West Hempstead — who received her juris doctorate degree from Hofstra University School of Law — first served on the board of Girl Scouts of Nassau County from 2009 through 2015. She has also served as School Board President — among other positions — at St. Thomas the Apostle School in West Hempstead.
As chief legal counsel at Triumph Construction Corp., she is responsible for litigation management; key business and legal advice; risk management; negotiating large construction contracts with the City of New York; and numerous other responsibilities. Before joining Triumph Construction Corp. in 2010, Porzio served as an associate at Rivkin Radler LLP beginning in 1999.
