West Hempstead Broncos shop for sporting goods

The West Hempstead Broncos were out in full force last weekend, taking advantage of special discounts as well as entering raffles and having fun as they shopped for new football gear — an opportunity made possible by Dick’s Sporting Goods, one of their new sponsors.

A number of Broncos players and their parents turned out for Shop Day for the West Hempstead Youth Football Club at Roosevelt Field Mall on Aug. 21. Jerry Copsinis, senior community marketing manager for Dick’s, said the store was excited to host the event. “Dick’s Sporting Goods would like to thank all of the parents, coaches and volunteers who invest their time and energy to help develop such a great program for the kids,” Copsinis said.

Throughout the day, Dick’s offered coupons on specific football gear and for overall purchases the entire family could enjoy. It also raffled off a bonus certificate and some footballs.

“It is so rewarding to see that a national corporation like Dick’s Sporting Goods would step up and support the children of the Broncos organization,” said West Hempstead Youth Football Club President Tony DiLorenzo. “The timing is perfect and apropos as we’ve made many positive changes within the organization this year, including our new website which helps us not only communicate to our parents but also promote all of the sponsors in exchange for their support of the kids and the West Hempstead community.”
