Baldwin Bombers end 49th season

Mixed results for teams of 8 and 12 year olds

The Baldwin Bombers finished their 49th season earlier this month with mixed results.

The team of 8 year olds finished with a 26-0 win over Hicksville. After starting 0-2, the 8-year-olds went 5-0-1 to finish 5-2-1.

Next season, they will be set for a playoff run, said coach Thomas Reilly.

The team of 12-year-olds finished with a tough loss to Farmingdale. The season prepared the boys for their next season at the 13-year-old level.

Besides the return of the two teams, the Bombers have a team of 5 and 6 year olds ready to play next season. Also, a team of 10 and 11 year olds will return, Reilly said. There will also be teams for 7, 8 and 12 year olds.

Here is the roster of this year’s team of 8 year olds: Jayden Burrell, Vincent Castellano, Jaylen Desir, Jeancarlos Escobar, Justin Funkenberg, Jaldin Gentles, Reggie George, Rian Gittens, Alex Infante, Jayden Johnson, Michael Jordan, Chaz Mossy, Eric Reilly, Draivnel Saint-Victor, Jelani Williams, Demarcus Tyrell, Kristopher Ward and Garris Williams.

Coaches for the team were Frank Castellano, head coach, and assistants, Thomas Reilly, Gary Gentles, Garris Williams and Ron Mossy.

Here is the roster of this year’s team of 12 year olds: Jasigha Barnes, Dhani Beckwith, Anthony Braithwaite, Joshua Burgess, Sage Burke, Jesse Dworsak, Trystan Harding, Deante Johnson, John Lund, Daniel Martinez, Ryan Mctighe, Aidan Melvin, Kenneth Ojeikere, Richard Sanchez, Johnathan Scarduzio, Ryan Steward.

Coaches for the team were Jeff Meyer, head coach, Wally Melvin and Larry Danielson.
