Central District, Bellmore and North Bellmore budgets approved

Goller and Kelly re-elected in Bellmore; Corless re-elected in North Bellmore, Nardo unseats Erhard

Voters hit the polls on Tuesday in Bellmore and approved the Bellmore Public School District's $27 million budget and the North Bellmore School District's $61 million budget for 2022-23.

Incumbents Janet Goller and Maryanne Kelly were re-elected in Bellmore. Incumbent Rosemarie Corless was re-elected in North Bellmore, and challenger Christopher Nardo unseated the other incumbent, Jo-Ann Erhard.

Goller had been a board member for 27 years, and has also served on the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School Board of Education for 22 years. Kelly has been on the board for 12 years. 

They were opposed by Michael Demetriou and Ellen Brach. 

Goller earned 1,113 votes, and Kelly earned 1,119 votes. 

Corless, the North Bellmore board's most recent president, first served the community from 2006-13, and again from 2018 through the present. Nardo, a newcomer to the board, is a father of two daughters in the school district. 

Corless earned 1,121 votes, and Nardo earned 862 votes.  The other candidates, Thomas McDonough and Rocco Famiglietti earned, 784 and 757, respectively.
