Bellmorite releases eighth published book

Bellmorite Vincent Scialo has experience authoring books of varying genres — romance, mystery, thriller — but for his eighth publication, he chose a different route: a children’s story.

“The Many Adventures of Grandpa and Grandpa’s Girl” is a new children’s book dedicated to Scialo’s granddaughter, Emma, 2, as it spins a tale of a fantastical adventure between the two of them. The close bond between the author and his granddaughter, whom he sees “almost every day,” inspired his next writing venture, Scialo said.

“In the crazy times that we’re living right now, it was enlightening to release a children’s book that can lift your spirits around the holiday season,” he said.

“It was more fun to put together a children’s book” than his previous seven works, he added. “The Many Adventures” includes four short stories of Scialo and his granddaughter enjoying different activities.

The first batch of books, which consisted of more than 200 physical copies, sold out “almost instantly,” Scialo said. So far, it’s his fastest selling book release.

The project became a family affair when Scialo sought out an illustrator. His father-in-law, Joseph Pepe, who is a former architect, agreed to illustrate the book, and Scialo’s wife, Jennifer, added the finishing touches to the drawings.

“It was awesome to draw for one of my husband’s book, especially one dedicated to our granddaughter, who we adore so much,” Jennifer said.

“The Many Adventures of Grandpa and Grandpa’s Girl” can be found online at major retailers, including Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Those interested can also email Scialo at vscialo@gmail.com to receive a signed copy at no extra cost.
