Kosher Response, a charitable program founded by Hewlett resident Gabriel Boxer in response to the coronavirus pandemic, donated 2,400 individual bottles of hand sanitizer to the Nassau County Police Department at police headquarters in Mineola on Oct. 1.

The donation Boxer said is so, “that all officers in Nassau County will be given their own (hand sanitizer) to help keep all our heroes safe.”

Boxer, known as the “Kosher Guru” because of his background in the restaurant industry, began Kosher Response in March and initially donated meals to first responder across the tri-state area.

Most recently, Boxer collaborated with the Marion & Aaron Gural JCC, Community Chest South Shore, the Leon Mayer Fund, along with other sponsors to support a communitywide free food and produce fest.
