Merrick man killed in early morning crash on Ocean State Parkway

New York State Police are investigating a car crash that killed a Merrick man early Monday morning, according to a department press release. 

On July 27, at approximately 1:53 a.m., state police were notified of the crash, which occurred on the eastbound side of the Ocean State Parkway near the entrance to Gilgo Beach in the Town of Babylon. 

Joshua Phillips, 22, of Merrick, was driving a 2017 Ford Mustang on the eastbound side of Ocean Parkway when his vehicle veered off the roadway and overturned.  Phillips succumbed to his injuries at the scene, according to the release.

State troopers are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call (631) 756-3300.
