Police catch alleged Inwood burglar

Nassau County police arrested a man who allegedly broke a door, then a window of the same building at 1 Sheridan Blvd. in Inwood for the alleged burglary on Dec. 5 at 10:38 p.m.

Police said that Sequan Kennedy, 30, took an unspecified amount of money and had stolen credit cards at the time of his arrest. A security company was monitoring the cameras from an external location, saw Kennedy and called 911.

Officers responded and secured the perimeter of the building. Nassau County K9-5 responded to assist with the investigation and located Kennedy hiding in the building. 

Kennedy is charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

 The Legal Aid Society of Nassau County is representing Kennedy, whose next court date is Jan. 13. Bond of $10,000 or cash $5,000 was not posted.
