Blaze on Main Street

The East Rockaway Fire Department was called to a fire in progress at 200 Main Street Wednesday night. The three residents, one of whom called in the fire, were waiting outside of their home, all safe, when firemen arrived. The firefighters did, however, rescue a mother cat and her three kittens from the second floor of the home. The blaze started on the first floor, according to Chief Ed Reicheter, and quickly travelled to the second floor. Video courtesy Mark Kasner
