Kennedy student promotes CPR/AED training

Posted

Kayla Babbush, a sophomore at Kennedy High School in Bellmore, has been working with the Robbie Levine Foundation to bring free CPR/AED training to the Central High School District. The Robbie Levine Foundation was created by Dr. Craig and Jill Levine of Merrick, whose 9-year old son Robbie died suddenly when his heart stopped at a baseball practice in 2005.

One of the free workshops was recently held at Mepham High School in North Bellmore. The three-hour training session was available for all students and staff members after school. The Robbie Levine Foundation, which Babbush has worked with closely, provided the free training with two certified instructors, said Mepham Assistant Principal Jennifer Carne said. All participants left the training fully certified in CPR and in use of the automated external defibrillator.
