The Andrew Ahr Group, a groove-jazz ensemble known for their eclectic arrangements and original compositions, captivated an audience at the East Meadow Public Library on Jan. 5 with an afternoon of engaging jazz music.
Led by guitarist Andrew Ahr, the group performed a mix of dynamic arrangements of songs by legendary artists such as Dr. Lonnie Smith, Grant Green, The Beatles, and The Foo Fighters. Their repertoire also included interpretations of works by Chuck Mangione, Ben Folds, The Get Up Kids, Radiohead, and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, as well as original compositions penned by Ahr.
The talented lineup included Ahr on guitar, Kevin Clark on guitar, Dominic Duval on bass, Bryan Carrott on vibraphone, Alex Kaufman on drums, and Patrick Lehosky on percussion. Their unique sound blends jazz fusion with elements of funk and contemporary music.
