Far Rockaway man charged in Inwood robbery

A Far Rockaway man was arrested in connection with an incident that allegedly turned violent in Inwood on Feb. 22, Nassau police said.

A man, 31, called 911 to report a disturbance with a weapon on Doughty Boulevard at 6:32 p.m., according to police. The man told police that he argued with his roommate over money.

The argument became violent when the roommate allegedly pulled out a utility razor, demanded money, swung the razor cutting the man on his left hand and punched him in the face several times, police said. The man fled and called police.

Angel Ocevedo, 59, of Far Rockaway, was arrested without incident, police said. The injured man refused medical attention.

Ocevedo is charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree attempted robbery, second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He will be arraigned in Mineola on Feb. 23.
