More than 300 professionals in the real estate industry met at the Brooklyn Expo Center to support Jewish Education Program/Nageela  its fifth annual networking event on Feb. 4 and awarded the first-ever Mark Ramer Award to the Ramer and Saperstein families.

Ramer, an Atlantic Beach resident, died last year. He was 71. Ramer spent his early career years as a dentist, before becoming involved in real estate. He worked with Michael Saperstein for the next 30-plus years before his retirement. His countless donations to religious organizations, as well as his desire to help anyone in the field is what prompted the idea of creating the award for him. He was described as a gentle, caring man “who used his prosperity to help so many…”

“Thank you to the Ramer and Saperstein families for the opportunity to inaugurate this award in memory of a person who used his prosperity to help so many,” said Rabbi Dovid Shenker, JEP/Nageela founder. “We are grateful to all of our sponsors, committee members, and participants for making this event the huge success that it was.”
