Name that Tune fundraiser strikes a chord

East Meadow Kiwanis members listened to classic hits from each decade as they guessed the popular songs during their 11th annual “Name that Tune” fundraiser, based on the 1950s game show of the same name, on Feb. 7 at the East Meadow Fire Department.

All proceeds collected from ticket sales and donations will be used to support those in need in the community. Dozens of community members filled the hall, which the East Meadow Fire Department donates annually for the festivities, and enjoyed a buffet dinner and snacks before the competition. Teams were named after famous bands and music terms and participants got into the spirit by wearing their favorite band T-shirts.

Kiwanis President Alan Hodish emceed the event, Harry Demiris was the DJ and Ross Schiller, a past president of the club, served as the judge.
