At the Rockville Centre Board of Trustees’ meeting on Monday, Mayor Murray revealed that he had tested positive for Covid-19 on the morning of September 27, but had since been treated at Mercy Hospital with an antibody infusion.

Mayor Francis X. Murray announced at Monday’s village board meeting that he tested positive for Covid-19 on Sept. 27, and was treated with an antibody infusion at Mercy Hospital.

The mayor, who is fully vaccinated, said he experienced symptoms over the last weekend of September, and contacted the hospital early on Sept. 27. He described the experience as “Covid-light” since he said he never experienced any lung pain, nausea, fevers or oxygen and blood issues.

“The doctor gave me an option of an infusion and recommended it for me, and I said yes,” Murray said. “And I’m glad I did.” The mayor had to miss his annual golf outing benefiting the Community Fund on Sept. 27 and quarantined at home until Monday, when he was cleared by the state to resume his duties.

“I consider myself quite lucky,” he said.
