Halloween Hay Bale Theater

This October, the Garden Shoppe at Stew Leonard’s will be transformed into a Hay Bale Theater to show free children’s Halloween-themed movies. Complimentary juice and popcorn are served to all. The movies begin at 6 p.m. with seating opening at 5:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Stew Leonard’s is at 1897 Front Street in East Meadow. Movies will be shown Oct. 11 and again on Oct. 25.

CROP Hunger Walk

The 2019 CROP Hunger Walk will commence at Eisenhower Park’s Dogwood Area on Oct. 12 with sign in beginning at 10 a.m. and the walk starting at 11 a.m. The walk includes 1-mile and 2-mile walk routes, followed by refreshments and music. CROP Hunger Walks help to provide food and water, as well as resources that empower people to meet their own needs. For more information, contact Arlene Kallour at (516) 942-7841.

Illuminated Wine Bottles Paint Party

Come join your friends at The Greene Turtle, at 1740 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, for its Halloween Illuminated Wine Bottles Paint Party on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. Uncork your creative side and have fun while painting your own glass creation, with four designs from which to choose. All the materials will be provided for a $40 fee, which includes a wine bottle, glass paint and brushes. The event is hosted by Drinkable Arts Long Island and instructed by Diane Stuart.
