A summer of splashing at Lynbrook’s Village Pool begins

Though the coronavirus remains a concern, Lynbrook and Rockville Centre residents can still use the Lynbrook Village Pool as long as they adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Mayor Alan Beach said village officials decided to open the facility on June 19 while following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“It’s been well received and appreciated by the families,” he said. “The staff is doing an excellent job making sure it’s clean and safe. It’s a great place to be in this heat.” Beach also praised the staff for their hard work and dedication in making sure the pool opened, which was nearly a month after its scheduled opening on Memorial Day.

With the pandemic ongoing, officials have administered the following rules for pool guests:

The pool is open to village and non-village of Lynbrook residents, School District No. 20 residents and Rockville Centre residents

Attendees need a photo identification with their matching address of registration at the time of check in at the pool.

Patrons are prohibited to bring guests

Pool users must wear a mask to enter the pool building.

There is a limit on how many people can enter the bathroom at one time.

There are two time slots for the pool: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; and 3:30 to 8 p.m. Between the two time slots the facility is thoroughly cleaned.

For the daily rates, anyone under 2 is admitted free. For village residents from ages 3 to 12, entry costs $4 per day, while it costs District No. 20 residents in that age bracket $6 and $8 for RVC residents. Admittance for Lynbrook residents from ages 13 to 59 costs $8, while it costs District No. 20 residents in that group $12 and RVC residents $15. Lynbrook residents that are 60 and over can enter for $4, while District No. 20 residents of that age will pay $6 and RVC residents will be charged $8.
