Crime watch: Lynbrook/East Rockaway

Arrests

 

On Dec. 9 at 4:40 p.m., a 38-year-old Cambria Heights, Queens man was arrested and charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the parking lot of the Lynbrook Motor Inn, 5 Freer St.

At 4:40 p.m. on Dec. 9, a 30-year-old woman from Yonkers was arrested and charged with five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance at the Lynbrook Motor Inn.

A 40-year-old Far Rockaway, Queens man  was arrested and charged with petit larceny at CVS, 633 Merrick Road, on Dec. 11 at 1:32 p.m.   

On Dec. 11 at 9:54 p.m., a 22-year-old Richmond Hill, Queens resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and unlicensed operator on Sunrise Highway.   

At 11:40 p.m. on Dec. 16, a 28-year-old Cedarhurst resident was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and an open Nassau County warrant on Peninsula Boulevard.

A 29-year-old man from Rosedale, Queens, was arrested and charged with grand larceny, resisting arrest, assault and unlawful possession of marijuana on Piccadilly Downs on Dec. 19 at 1:22 a.m. 

On Dec. 22 at 3:40 a.m., a 24-year-old Cedarhurst man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief on Hutcheson Place.

At 9:23 p.m. on Dec. 22, a 55-year-old Lynbrook woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a stop sign on Sudermann Avenue.   

 A 28-year-old man from Jamaica, Queens was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, improper left turn and failure to signal on Sunrise Highway on Dec. 28 at 1:02 p.m.

 

Grand larceny

 

On Dec. 6 at 12:30 p.m., a Lynbrook resident reported that she placed a check in a mailbox on Denton Avenue and Oak Street. After checking her account, she discovered that someone altered the check by changing the name and amount. The total loss was $2,200.

A Malverne resident reported that he placed a check in a mailbox on Atlantic and Stauderman avenues on Dec. 18 at 12:30 p.m. After checking his account, he noticed that someone altered the check, changing the name and amount. The total loss was about $4,600.

 

Burglaries

 

A home on Charles Street was burglarized sometime between 2 and 3 p.m. on Dec. 16. Items stolen included jewelry, money, gift cards and a men’s watch. The total loss was about $6,300.

A home on Vincent Avenue was burglarized sometime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Dec. 16. Items stolen included jewelry and money, and the total loss was about $10,200.
