Kolstein Music livestream performances to benefit local musicians

Baldwin’s Kolstein Music livestreamed a benefit concert at its performance venue on Foxhurst Road Friday to support local musicians whose incomes have been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The performances were livestreamed on the Kolstein Youtube, Facebook and Instagram pages, and virtual attendees had the opportunity to watch performances by the highest level jazz, blues and classical artists.

Kolstein Music has launched a musician relief fund, with all of the proceeds of the campaign benefitting the performing artists and groups. The events Friday featured Harvie S., Matt Wilson and Roni Ben-Hurr.

To donate to the fund, visit the GoFundMe page. You can also follow the livestream events at Kolstein.com/livestream.

With events being canceled to reduce the spread of Covid-19, musicians who make their livelihoods through gigs and freelance music work are losing critical opportunities to support their well-being.

The benefit concerts are meant “to raise funds and provide a space for audiences to still support and capture incredible live performances from the comfort of their homes,” Kolstein’s representatives said in a news release.
