The Lynbrook and East Rockaway fire departments recently installed new chiefs for their departments.

At the council meeting of the Lynbrook Fire Department on April 16, Nicholas Pearsall of Engine Company was sworn in by Mayor Alan Beach as Lynbrook’s new fire chief for the coming year.

Pearsall, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, has been a member of the Lynbrook Fire Department since 1998. Before that, he was a member of the Lynbrook Junior Fire Department. He joined the junior program when he was 13 and then joined the Fire Department when he turned 18. Pearsall went on to serve three terms as a line officer in Engine Company before being elected third assistant chief in 2016. He became second assistant chief in 2017 and first assistant chief in 2018. He was then elected by the Fire Department members as chief on April 4.

Pearsall’s professional life supports his dedication to the LFD and Lynbrook residents. He is in his 15th year as a New York City firefighter, assigned to Squad 252 in Brooklyn. He and his wife, Shannon, have two sons, Aidan and Nolan. Pearsall’s family supports his commitment to the village.

The East Rockaway Fire Department installed its new fire chiefs by swearing them into office on April 16.

Jack Felbinger will serve as the new chief of the department, taking over for outgoing Chief Frank Passanisi. Ronald Roeill will serve as First Assistant Chief, while Dave Bilardello will be second assistant chief and Dominic Pignataro is third assistant chief.
