Lynbrook Police Department increases patrol for illegal fireworks for Independence Day, summer 2021

Chief Brian Paladino and the Lynbrook Police Department wish to remind village residents to refrain from using illegal fireworks during Independence Day and throughout the summer.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that in 2019, there were more than 10,000 people injured across the U.S. from illegal fireworks. There were numerous complaints after last year’s Fourth of July about fireworks displays being rampant across the village and in response, the LPD will add more patrols this year with the goal of halting the use of illegal fireworks.

Starting July 2, the LPD will ticket and, if necessary, arrest those who choose to use illegal fireworks in the village.

Fireworks can cause life-altering injuries. Be a good neighbor and don’t purchase or use illegal fireworks. The LPD wishes everyone a safe and glorious Fourth of July weekend.
