Malverne schools celebrate trustees, scholars

Posted

It was an exciting evening during the Malverne School District’s Oct. 13 Board of Ed. meeting. Board members were honored for their hard work and dedication to the district, and several students were recognized for earning the Advance Placement Scholar distinction.

To kick off the festivities, each building principal presented board members with gifts and showed a video they compiled of students expressing their gratitude for the board’s year-round efforts.

This recognition follows the New York State School Boards Association’s School Board Recognition Week, which runs from Oct. 19-23. This allows school board members to be honored for their volunteer service, commitment and contributions to their schools and community.

The celebrations continued as the board recognized its A.P. scholars. With 10 students in attendance, Malverne High School Principal Dr. Vincent Romano announced their names in front of spectators. Advance Placement scholars are students who were recognized for their successful performance on the 2020 A.P. exams. District officials congratulated all students who have earned the distinction this year.
