The graduating eighth-graders from Our Lady of Peace were celebrated at a ceremony in the parking lot of New York Elks Lodge No. 1 in Lynbrook.

The New York Elks Lodge No. 1 in Lynbrook recently permitted Our Lady of Peace School to use the facility to honor the graduating eighth grade class of 2020.
Principal Karen Von Braunsberg contacted Exalted Ruler Lisa Moldovan, who shared the request with the board of trustees, which unanimously approved it. Some 140 graduates, their family members and teachers took in the socially distant festivities in the lodge’s parking lot. More than 20 vehicles that were decorated as part of the ceremony to honor the graduates.
