On June 28, 1997, the torso of a young woman called Jane Doe No. 3 and known as the girl with the peach tattoo was found in Lakeview near Hempstead Lake State Park.
This morning Nassau County police are expected to identify the woman.
In December of 2016 additional remains found on Long Island five years earlier were positively identified as belonging to this woman, along with the remains of her child.
“Peaches” became linked as a possible victim of the Gilgo Beach serial killer now allegedly identified as Rex Heuermann.
