Rath Park pool opens for the summer

The coronavirus pandemic did not stop nearly 50 Franklin Square residents from taking a dip in the pool at Rath Park in the 91-degree heat on July 3, the first day the pool was open to the public.

Several safety measures were in place, however, to stop the spread of the coronavirus and keep residents safe. The diving board at Rath Park is closed, and pool-goers are asked to bring their own chairs.

Additionally, the pool is only open to Franklin Square residents. Families are free for the day, and an individual pass costs $7. Those who would like to visit the pool with a Franklin Square resident can pay $8 for a pass, and there are reduced rates for senior citizens, veterans, handicap individuals and volunteer firefighters, ambulance members and auxiliary police officers.
