Daisy troop plants flowers in Franklin Square

Girls in Daisy Troop 2064 worked hard to beautify the Best Market shopping center on Dogwood Avenue in Franklin Square on Sept. 29.

They dug out old dirt from the center’s nearly 20 planters, and planted mums in their place. Mums can bloom over the chillier fall months, and these flowers were donated by the Morton Civic Association, which bought them from the Willow Road Parent Teacher Association to support the Valley Stream District 13 school.

For their efforts, each of the Girl Scouts received a Good Neighbor badge.
